On Wednesday 08 February the Attorney General awarded his annual Bar Pupillage Scholarship to joint winners Emma McIlveen BL and Niamh Horscroft BL.
The competition was open to this year’s Bar Pupils who had to enter an essay on the topic ‘The value of comparative law for a ‘Brexiting’ Northern Ireland.
The purpose of the scholarship is to give visible support and recognition by the Attorney General to pupil barristers, with the joint winners receiving a bursary of £1,000 each and the opportunity to undertake 20 hours of Pro-Bono work within the Office of the Attorney General.
The winners of the competition will be also included on the Attorney’s Recently Qualified Junior Counsel Panel at the end of their non-practising Pupillages.
